Notice to Airmen:
Due to the ever increasing amount of seaplane and boat traffic in Port McNeill Harbour, the Town has implemented the following policy regarding seaplane operating procedures in the interest of both safety and noise abatement. We ask that all operators cooperate by observing these procedures:
-
No aircraft shall take off, land or taxi on the step within the boundaries of the Inner Harbour except when necessary due to wind or water conditions.
-
No aircraft shall taxi on the step or takeoff east of the Municipal breakwater.
-
No aircraft shall take off, land, taxi on the step or conduct engine or propeller checks within 200' of any boat or vessel.
-
Aircraft must conduct departures WEST of the MacMillan Bloedel breakwater for noise abatement reasons when wind and water conditions permit.
-
Aircraft are to avoid overflights of the town below 1,000 AGL.
-
Aircraft should make their intentions known by broadcasting on 122.800, within 5 nautical miles, prior to landing or departing Port McNeill Harbour.
Note:
-
Port McNeill's Inner Harbour, for the purpose of these procedures, shall be considered as the area lying inside of an imaginary line running from the Northernmost point of the MacMillan Bloedel breakwater to the Northernmost point of the Municipal breakwater.
-
Port McNeill wishes to have the above rules accepted on a "good neighbour" basis. Please be a good neighbour.
